Philadelphia police are looking for the armed suspect who robbed a food market in the city’s Olney section on Monday.

Investigators said that at approximately 7:45 p.m., the suspect entered the Loudon Food Market located at 1448 Loudon St. He pointed his gun at one of the employees and demanded money, while threatening to shoot the second employee.

In a second unrelated robbery, police are looking for a suspect who robbed and murdered a man near an ATM machine just blocks away from the Temple University campus on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Kevin Gardner, 54, of the 1500 block of North Eighth Street. Gardner was shot multiple times by a still unknown assailant and was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 12:24 a.m.

Detectives report that Gardner was using a cash machine just after midnight outside of the Diamond Deli near 9th and Diamond Streets. Responding officers from the 26th District said that Gardner tried to fight back and was shot multiple times by a still unidentified attacker. The robber stole $200.
