Philadelphia police announced this week they have arrested three suspects wanted in connection with a string of robberies in Northeast Philadelphia, Lower Merion and other areas.
The Philadelphia Police Department Northwest Detective Division, with the assistance of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, has arrested the suspects allegedly responsible for multiple robberies in the 2nd, 14th and 35th Police Districts. John Townsend was arrested on February 10, and Jeffery Harrison was arrested on February 16. Both were identified as the two individuals wanted for those robberies committed in Philadelphia, Lower Merion and Montgomery Township. After an extensive investigation, Harrison and Daniel Watson have been identified as the suspects in the robbery that occurred at Bellagio's Jewelers located at 2115 Cottman Avenue on November 14, 2011.
Federal charges are pending against all of the defendants.
In an unrelated criminal investigation, police in Bensalem are still working the case of a toddler who was allegedly injured by the child’s mother’s boyfriend on Sunday, February 26.
Adrian Morgan Allen has been charged with first-degree felony aggravated assault charges and related offenses. Bensalem police say Allen was babysitting the three children of his girlfriend, Nakia Adams, at her apartment in the 2500 block of Knights Road between Friday night and Sunday. Allen is not the father of any of the children.
On Sunday, Allen allegedly called Adams and told her that her baby was sick and vomiting. When Adams returned home that day, she found her daughter unresponsive in her crib and immediately took her to St. Mary Medical Center in Middletown, Pennsylvania. At the hospital, doctors found the child had evidence of severe blunt force head injuries. They also found additional injuries including a broken forearm, a bite mark on her triceps, broken ribs and multiple bruises on her back — injuries consistent with child abuse.
