Services will be held May 9 for Ruth McNeal.
McNeal died May 3, 2012. She was 88.
She was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Philadelphia. She was educated at Saint Peter Claver School, Bartlett Junior High and William Penn High School. She worked for many years at Graduate Hospital and retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Raymond Thomas and Tracy Jones.
McNeal is survived by her husband, James McNeal; son, Reginald Thomas; two sisters-in-law, Hattie and Lillian; nieces, Margaret Sherman, Judy Thomas, Shirley, Diane and Sheila Biddle; nephew, Lloyd Thomas and wife Tish; and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held May 9 at 10 a.m. at Slater Funeral Home, 1426 Fitzwater Street. Services will follow at 11. Burial will be in Merion Memorial Park Cemetery.
