State Sen. Anthony H. Williams is inviting local small business owners to attend his next small business workshop, which will focus on “Financing Your Business.”

The free event, co-hosted by Citi and the Enterprise Center, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Enterprise Center, 4548 Market St. in West Philadelphia.

The workshop will focus on helping small business owners pursue financing and build healthy relationships and partnerships with banks, as well as minimize tax liabilities. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

“Small businesses have a major impact on the economic health of the community, the region and the entire commonwealth,” Williams said. “Mom-and-pop operations dominate our area. Some nine in ten firms in our area are small businesses. These are the operations that give a kid that first job, help a senior supplement income, and for tens of thousands of others, provide families the wages they need to survive.

“It’s crucial that small business owners receive the support they need to thrive, so I encourage them to attend this informative workshop on financial advice,” he added.

This event is the latest in a series of small business workshops the senator has sponsored in and around the 8th Senatorial District to help cultivate and deepen entrepreneurial efforts.
